Stock tickers
Stock tickers are most often designat by 1–6 Latin letters. These letters usually sound similar to the company name. For example, the ticker of Sberbank’s ordinary shares is SBER, Gazprom’s shares are GAZP, and Rosneft’s are ROSN.
To designate preferr shares, the letter P is plac at the end of the ticker. Thus, the ticker of ordinary shares of Surgutneftegaz is SNGS, and the ticker of preferr shares is SNGSP. In the USA, instead of ordinary and preferr shares, there are do you ne any prior Class A securities (analogous to ordinary shares) and Class B securities (analogous to preferr shares). These designations are also indicat in tickers. For example, Berkshire Hathaway Class A shares are assign the ticker BRKa, and Class B securities are assign the ticker BRKb.

Tickers are not designat in Latin letters on all china business directory exchanges. In Asia, hieroglyphs are us for this. But for international investors, such designations are incomprehensible, so digital codes are also us. For example, shares of the Chinese holding Alibaba are designat by the ticker BABA on the New York Stock Exchange, and by the code 9988 on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Bond tickers
Tickers are us very rarely for bonds. For example, US Treasury bonds have them: FVX for five-year bonds, TNX for ten-year bonds, TYV for thirty-year bonds. However, ISIN codes are most often us for bonds.
