Brief information
You can access Windows 10 File Explorer in Windows 11 from Control Panel, Command Prompt, Registry Editor, or third-party tools.
Most methods require Windows 11 21H2 or earlier, but some work with later versions as well.
You can restore the default Windows 11 Explorer at any time.
The methods may stop working if you update Windows, especially those that require making changes to the registry.
Method 1: From the control panel
Open Control Panel on your PC and click the Up arrow at the top.
On the page that appears, click the Up arrow again
You will see that the Windows 10 File Explorer with the ribbon interface will appear. Now you can manage your files as you wish, but once job function email list you close the window, it will revert to the Windows 11 File Explorer.
Method 2: Using the command line
If you haven’t updated to Windows 11 version 22H2 yet, you can use Command Prompt to access Windows 10 File Explorer.
Open the Start menu, type cmdand click Run as administrator.
In the Command Prompt window, type reg add “HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{d93ed569-3b3e-4bff-8355-3c44f6a52bb5}\InprocServer32” /f /veand press Enter.
This will bring back the classic File Explorer with ribbon interface in Windows 11 after restarting your computer. You can switch zapier to connect tools and automate tasks back to the regular File Explorer using the command reg delete “HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{d93ed569-3b3e-4bff-8355-3c44f6a52bb5}” /fin the Command Prompt.
Note: If the command to remove the command bar in Windows 11 File Explorer does not work, there may be spaces at the end. Check them and remove them before repeating the command.
Method 3: Using Registry Editor How to Get Windows
In Windows 11 21H2 and earlier, you can manually edit the registry to restore Windows 10 File Explorer.
Open the Start menu, type regeditand click Run as administrator.
Paste the following address
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensionsinto the address bar taiwan lead at the top of the Registry Editor and press Enter.
Click on the Shell Extensions folder and right-click inside the right pane. Then click New and select Key.
Name the key “Locked”, then right-click it and select “New” and then “String Value”.
